The Church venerates the Blessed Virgin Mary because she is truly the Mother of God and of Redemption, inseparably united to Christ, especially in the mystery of His Passion. Through her faith and charity, Mary is also a model for the Church and a "figure" of how to live the Gospel with hope and love. Furthermore, after the Ascension, Mary aided the beginnings of the Church with her prayers.
Her veneration, while being "special," is not adoration; rather, it is "most favorable" so that the Son may be known, loved, and glorified.
The sublimity of the praises bestowed upon her.
The innumerable pens employed in describing her glories.
Her spiritual "power," which is vast but always dependent on God.
Her goodness, which is said to be so great that she allows herself to be swayed by our pleas even more easily than God Himself.
Her role as Mother of grace and mercy, the cause of our joy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope.
Her role as the Source for us of all graces.
Her title as Queen and Mother of the created world.
Her magnitude, being greater than the universe, superior to the Angels, close to God, and nearly touching the limits of divinity.
"Theology, eloquence, poetry, music, painting, and sculpture have vied in their efforts to extol her virtues, publish her praises, and celebrate her greatness."
May our lives be filled with love for Mary Most Holy; she will lead us to the love of God.
Begin the day with Mary, for Mary, and through Mary.
